A Warm Reminder for Our Incredible Surrogate Mothers
First of all—thank you.
You’ve done something extraordinary. You’ve helped build a family, and at GSHC, we are deeply grateful for the strength, compassion, and heart you brought to this journey.
You’re Not Alone — Our Team Will Guide You
As you enter the final stage of your surrogacy journey, our GSHC Case Manager and Accounting Manager will be right by your side. They’ll check in with you, help you track and submit any outstanding medical bills, answer your questions, and walk you through each step until all finances are closed and confirmed. You’ve done your part beautifully—we’ll help finish the rest with the same care and commitment you’ve shown throughout.
After you give birth, hospitals and doctors often take time to submit charges to insurance. Once those are processed, you may begin receiving statements or bills for things like:
After delivery, it takes time for hospitals and OB offices to submit charges to your medical insurance. Once your insurance processes and approves those claims, you’ll receive bills for any remaining balance. This may take several weeks—or even months.
These may include:
Please don’t pay or ignore any bills that come in. Just send them to your case manager or to our accounting team.
Important: The address you gave the hospital is where these bills will be mailed.
If you moved after delivery, please check your new address carefully and consider setting up mail forwarding. Unpaid bills can go to collections—and we definitely want to avoid that.
As part of our continued support, GSHC’s Accounting Manager will help review your medical bills and ensure eligible charges are submitted to insurance or paid through escrow/lien services.
If you receive a bill, don’t delay – send it to your case manager or the accounting@gshc email right away. Keep track of any calls or updates from the hospital or provider as well; GSHC will follow up and confirm payments where applicable.
You’re not alone—we’re here to help close things out with care and clarity.
Per your surrogacy agreement, your health insurance policy generally remains active only up to 3 months after delivery.
Here’s what this means:
So please be proactive—the earlier you send us your bills, the smoother the process will be.
✔ Update your mailing address if you moved
✔ Check for hospital and OB bills regularly
✔ Send every bill you receive to GSHC promptly
✔ Follow up with your providers after a few weeks
✔ Confirm with our Accounting Manager that all bills are paid
✔ Reach out before your 3-month insurance window ends
